Beaucaire

A Typical day

We will start our day with the visit of Avignon.  Overlooking the Rhône river, capital of the western Christian world in the 14th century, Avignon presents an exceptional set of monuments including the “Saint Bénezet” bridge, the “Ramparts”, the “Petit Palais”, the cathedral and the impressive walls of the Popes’ Palace flanked by four mighty towers. Lunch will be taken in a restaurant in the old touristic part of Avignon.

Then, we propose you a tasteful visit of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. “La Maison Brotte” welcomes you in its museum for a wine tasting. Since four generations, the Brotte family specializes in making Rhône Valley exceptional wines. You won’t forget the arrival in the vineyards of “Château Mont-Redon” with a breathtaking view on the Mont Ventoux, the Cevennes, the Alpilles mounts and the “Dentelles de Montmirail”. In this family, that has always respected its vineyards and “terroirs”, the quest for elegant tannins has produced high quality red wines. Back to Beaucaire for a cruise to the lock of Nourriguier. “Cocktail du soir” and dinner on board. Night in a quiet mooring surrounded by nature
